Audiozen 33/45

MC/MM solid state phono stage

33/45 is the solid state MC/MM phono stage manufactured by Audiozen with selected FETs and separate power supply unit

33/45

is the evolution of

Audiozen phono preamplifier

33/45 is the evolution of Mantra, Audiozen’ first phono stage designed and manufactured in 2009.
During these years Audiozen improved it just in details and now Mantra becomes 33/45.
In this latest version, the MM stage gain has been improved and, for the first time, a first rate MC cartridge stage has been added. 33/45 is a phono stage that is aesthetically compact and pleasing, with top notch sonic characteristics.

Audiozen 33/45 - MC/MM solid state (FETs) phono stage

Audiozen 33/45 is the solid state phono stage for moving coil (MC) and moving magnet (MM) cartridges: it is equipped with FETs (field effect transistors), devices with high-class features like high input impedance, extended bandwidth, very low background noise, excellent tonal balance, very close to the warmth of tubes.
The FETs are selected and matched in pairs to obtain the same characteristics for both audio channels.
Audio signal is decoupled by fine Jantzen Standard Z-Cap series polypropylene capacitors specific for audio use.
The RIAA network has been calculated according to the parameters of the AES (Audio Engineering Society).

Not a cheap plug in transformer, but a separate power supply unit equipped with the transformer and the electronic voltage regulator circuit, equipped with large capacity capacitors. Connection between the power supply stage and the phono preamplifier is provided by connectors that can handle much higher current than that required by 33.

Audiozen 33/45 - Rear panels and connectors

The input impedance of a phono preamplifier is a very important factor because it can greatly influence the sound quality. In the 33/45 this value is set internally to 47 KΩ, which is ideal for driving MM cartridges and some MC cartridges. For different values, such as the 100/300 Ω required by most MC cartridges, simply insert the RCA connectors with the value recommended by the cartridge manufacturer into the RCA inputs labelled “MC LOAD” on the rear of 33. A pair of 100 Ω RCA connectors is supplied with the 33/45.

The care taken in designing and manufacturing this phono stage, like the all-aluminum cabinets, Jantzen polypropylene capacitors, excellent RCA connectors, separate power supply unit, made 33/45 the real evolution of Audiozen solid state phono preamplifier: you can play your favourite records enjoying great transparency, dynamics and detail.
